Convert your bookmarks to CSV for Excel or Google Sheets
Chrome exports bookmarks as an HTML file, which spreadsheets don’t read well. Drop that file here and download a CSV with one row per bookmark: its folder path, title, URL and the date you saved it.

Export your bookmarks from Chrome first
- Open
chrome://bookmarks(Ctrl+Shift+O, or Cmd+Option+B on a Mac). - Click the three-dot menu at the top right and choose Export bookmarks.
- Save the
.htmlfile, then drop it into the box above.
Edge, Firefox, Safari, Brave, Opera and Vivaldi export the same kind of file. The full walkthrough, with backups, is in how to export Chrome bookmarks; for the others see Edge, Firefox, Safari, Brave and Opera.
Open it in Excel or Google Sheets
- Excel: double-click the
.csvfile. It’s saved as UTF-8 with a byte order mark, so accented letters and emoji in titles show correctly. - Google Sheets: choose Copy as a table and paste into an empty sheet, or use File, Import and upload the CSV.
- Columns: Folder (the full path, such as
Bookmarks bar / Work), Title, URL, Date added and Tags (filled for Firefox exports that carry tags).
=, +, - or @ gets a leading apostrophe, so a spreadsheet shows it as text and never runs it as a formula.Questions
Can Chrome export bookmarks to Excel directly?
No. Chrome only exports an HTML bookmarks file. Convert that file here to get a CSV that Excel and Google Sheets open directly.
Why is the date added empty for some links?
The date comes from the export. Chrome and Firefox include it; some other browsers and tools leave it out.
Can I get just one folder?
Export everything, convert it, then filter the Folder column in your spreadsheet. Excel’s filter or a Google Sheets filter view does it in a click.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The page reads the file with your browser’s own file reader and builds the new file on your computer. You can load the page, turn off Wi-Fi and it still works.
