Open and search a bookmarks HTML file
Opening a bookmarks export in a browser shows one long list. Drop it here instead to browse it as a folder tree, search every title, URL and folder as you type, and open any link.

When this helps
- Finding one link in an old backup without importing the whole file into your browser.
- Checking what an export contains before you import it on a new computer.
- Looking through someone else’s shared bookmarks file safely: links open in a new tab and nothing from the file runs as a script.
Need the links somewhere else? Convert the same file to a spreadsheet or to Markdown, or clean out duplicates.
Questions
How do I open a bookmarks HTML file?
Double-clicking it opens a flat list in your browser. To browse it by folder and search it, drop it into the viewer above. To use the bookmarks in your browser, import the file from the Bookmark Manager.
Can I open Chrome’s Bookmarks file with this?
Yes. The JSON file named Bookmarks (or Bookmarks.bak) from your Chrome profile opens here too.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The page reads the file with your browser’s own file reader and builds the new file on your computer. You can load the page, turn off Wi-Fi and it still works.
