A Nord new tab page for Chrome
Nord’s arctic blues suit a calm desk setup. Stackboard’s Nord palette puts them on Chrome’s new tab, with your bookmarks laid out in stacks across a Polar Night background.

The colors
| Background | Cards | Text | Muted text | Accent | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nord | #2e3440 | #3b4252 | #e5e9f0 | #b1b7c3 | #88c0d0 |
The background and cards are Nord’s Polar Night shades (nord0 and nord1), text is Snow Storm (nord5) and the accent is Frost (nord8). Nord is a dark palette, so Stackboard keeps it dark even when your computer is in light mode, and the Mode setting says so.
Turn it on
- Add Stackboard to Chrome (or Brave) from the Chrome Web Store and open a new tab. Choose Keep it if Chrome asks whether to keep the new page.
- Click Settings in the sidebar, just under the search box. Appearance is the first section.
- Click the Nord swatch. The board behind the dialog changes as you click, so you see it before you close Settings.
- Nord stays dark in every mode. Pick Catppuccin or Gruvbox if you want a light version during the day.
Background and density
Under the palette you can keep a solid color, pick one of three gradients made from the palette, or use your own picture with sliders to dim and blur it. The picture is stored in your browser on that computer and never uploaded. Over a picture, stacks and the sidebar turn into frosted panels so links stay readable. Compact density fits more stacks on a big board.
Questions
Why is there no light Nord?
Nord is designed as a dark palette. Its light Snow Storm shades are meant for text, and a light background built from them would lose Nord’s look.
Is it free?
Yes. Every palette is included, with no account and no paid tier.
Do my theme settings sync to my other computers?
Your spaces and bookmarks sync through Chrome, because they are ordinary Chrome bookmarks. The palette, mode and wallpaper are saved per computer, so set them once on each.
